Joel Embiid has been out of the playing team for the Philadelphia 76ers since the 22nd of November. He had scored at least 30 points in the last four games he had played before getting injured. He had also scored 59 points in the game against the Utah Jazz on the 14th of November. He averaged 37.3 points,5.8 assists, and 2.3 blocks per game in the last size games before his foot sprain. There is no doubt that Embiid is one of the most dominant players in the whole league when he is sound and healthy. After his injury, the 76ers suddenly found their rosters depleted with depth. He is questionable for Monday night’s game against the Atlanta Hawks.
Despite his absence, the team had won three of their last four games well. Their ability to bounce back and string together wins even without their main three stars would encourage and boost their team to the coaching staff. With his return, it will be crucial for them to keep the momentum going. They would be meeting Atlanta Hawks at the Wells Fargo Centre on Monday. After that, Philadelphia would hit the road for another three away games, beginning on Wednesday against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Before them, they would clash with Ja Morant and the Memphis Grizzlies on a Friday night. After a plodding start to the season, Embiid was starting to look like his previous dominant self.
The team is rolling despite the absence of the star players who are suffering from injuries. They have still stood their ground and played well despite all the odds stacked against them. There is a question mark over the playing status of Joel Embidd when they prepare to face the Hawks for the third time this month. Matisse Thybulle would also be returning after being listed as doubtful.
He had missed the last three games and had also tried to play through the injury in the games before that. PJ Tucker would also be returning after recovering from ankle soreness.
